Pre-charting - A Review.
Precharting's primary benefit is that it frees up doctors' time to devote primarily to patient care rather than searching for and examining pertinent documents. Every patient document is combined into a single record through pre-charting. Patients' medical histories, treatments received, lab results, and their interpretations are all included in the pre-chart.
Since pre-charting is known to improve health outcomes and, consequently, the doctor-patient relationship—the cornerstone of the healthcare industry—it has become a standard requirement in today's healthcare system.
Pre-charting involves
- Compiling documentation and patient information
Medical document assistants collect relevant patient information and document it in appropriate sections as a single document. This may also involve recording them in EMRs or EHRs. - Used for Physcians' Reference
Doctors utilize the pre-charts by consulting them prior to seeing a patient. This aids them in remembering the course of treatment, evaluating the patient's results, and making appropriate plans for follow-up care.
